Explore Winter in Central Oregon

Fall is finally here! Which means its time for all you Winter lovers to start planning your trips and activities here, it's right around the corner. So, we put a little list together of some of Central Oregon's most well known and favored Winter activities that you have to try if you haven't already. Bend and the surrounding areas are known for their incredible and perfect winters. The mountains get an average of 30 feet of snow per year, while the city gets less than 30 inches. The most diverse vacation you can imagine.

Mt. Bachelor Ski & Snowboard Resort

At the top of our list and most of the bend locals as well is Mt. Bachelor. Rated one of the Northwest's biggest and best ski resort destinations. Only 30 minutes outside of Bend, this resort not only includes skiing and snowboarding but also snow tubing, childcare, great food, lessons, hotels, vacation cabins, rentals and bed & breakfasts. Ice Skating

Our top 3 ice skating rinks for this winter include Seventh Mountain Resort Ice Skating Rink, The Village at Sunriver Ice Rink and Redmond Ice Skating Rink. The rink at the Seventh Mountain Resort is open through out the day with night skiing available on the weekends. And don't worry if you're not a pro quite yet, they also offer lessons! You can even come skate with Santa on Friday and Saturday nights before Christmas.
 

Snowmobiling

Bend is one of the most well known places when it comes to Snowmobiling lovers. The Mt. bachelor trail system has over 250 miles of open snowfields and incredible views. First time trying Snowmobiling? Central Oregon Adventures Inc. offers tours as well as rentals and will even drop you off at the location of your choice. Snowmobiling is a fun and exciting winter adventure to try this time around.
