4th Of July Festivities in Bend, Oregon!

When: July, 4th 2014

Bend Pet Parade


Summer has officially begun in Central Oregon and what better way to celebrate than with the 4th of July festival in beautiful downtown Bend. The day begins on Wall street where the dogs, horses, llamas, goats, cows and yes chickens line up with their owners for the annual 4th of July pet parade! Begin your morning with the pancake breakfast from 8am-11am at Drake Park! 

The decorating party and line up begins at 9:30am on 520 NW Wall Street which is the Bend La Pine District Admin Building! If you want to bring your horse or other large animal you can line up at the corner of Wall Street and Idaho Street by the Boys and Girls Club. Please remember to wear your helmets if you choose to ride your horse! The parade begins at 10am sharp! 
Kids of all ages can participate and are encouraged to dress in costume. They can even bring their favorite stuffed animal! Please remember that any aggressive animals should stay at home and please no rabbits or cats! 

The Old Fashioned July 4th Festival in Drake Park

After the parade, head down to Drake Park to enjoy The Old Fashioned July 4th Festival from 11am-4pm. There will be live music, arts and crafts, old fashioned games, and of course lots of food!  The live music is hosted by Sabrina Sloan from 99.7 The Bull and includes musical guests: Lakoda, !Chiringa!, and the Junk Yard Lots. 
Old Fashioned games are from 11am-3pm. Games include: gunny sack races, water balloon toss, three legged race, hula hoop contest and watermelon eating contest.
There will also be a kids and family fun area with carnival games, helicopter landings, obstacle courses and much more! 

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

The 4th of July fireworks spectacular at Pilot Butte begins at 10pm. It is always a goo idea to arrive early at any number of spots to make sure you have a good view of Pilot Butte. Don't forget to have your radio on for the fireworks sound track as well! The best spots to view the fireworks are: Awbrey Butte, Lava Lanes, Worthy Brewery or the Pilot Butte Soccer Field. 

This 4th of July will be one to remember! Get out there and have some fun this year!
